Caloundra, City of Beach Days

Just 1 hour’s drive north of Brisbane, Queensland’s capital, is the City of Caloundra. Caloundra is the southern gateway to the magnificent Sunshine Coast Region & an easy base to stay & explore the Blackall Ranges, the Hinterland & the Glasshouse Mountains. From the calm waters of the Pumicestone Passage where you can see across to the northern tip of Bribie Island, to the wonderful swimming beaches that wrap around Caloundra’s coastline, you’ll also find great surf stretching from Kings Beach to Moffat Beach through to Kawana all the way to Point Cartwright, Caloundra really has a beach to suit everyone. Being the closest coastal city to the world-famous Steve Irwin icon, Australia Zoo, the best the Sunshine Coast has to offer is right here on Caloundra’s doorstep.

Caloundra is one of Queensland's favourite family beach holiday destinations with lifesaver-patrolled family-friendly beaches at Kings Beach & Dicky Beach, & also the choice of sheltered waters at Bulcock Beach & Golden Beach.
